We had our first practice night on Tuesday 20th July.
15 people came to try the skiff. It was a great evening especially when one crew was playing the new game of dodge the fishing boat.

Eyemouth Skiff number one is finished

The first Eyemouth Skiff has been finished, we’ve had a little practice today and she’ll be offically named and lauched by the newly crowned Herring Queen on Sunday 11th 2010.

Cream Tea – Huge Success – over £500 raised.

Our cream tea has been a huge success and we’ve managed to raise over £500. I really need to thank everyone who came along and offered their support. I also need to thank everyone who baked scones. Fundraising – Cream Tea this Sunday, 2pm to 4pm at St Abbs

We’re having a Cream Tea at the St. Abbs Community Centre on Sunday afternoon (from 2pm to 4pm  30th May 2010). Everyone’s welcome to come along, enjoy some homebaking and a nice cuppa and find out more about our progress. We’ll also have the first batch of “St Abbs Coastal Rowing Association” T-shirts for sale.

£300 each from Berwickshire Housing Association

Our local housing association (Berwickshire Housing Association) has very generously donated £300 to both the Eyemouth build and St Abbs build. We’d like to thank the Association for their support.

Collected our banner for the St. Abbs Coastal Rowing Association from FantasyPrints in Berwick this morning and it looks fantastic. We’ve put it up inside the workshop above our build. Spoken with Johnny and Eyemouth are planning to get a banner too.

Progress

Managed to get down to the workshop myself for a few hours, cut out the mould for the St Abbs boat. Eyemouth have progressed to the stage of glueing their first frame.
