We had our first practice night on Tuesday 20th July.
15 people came to try the skiff. It was a great evening especially when one crew was playing the new game of dodge the fishing boat.

The first Eyemouth Skiff has been finished, we’ve had a little practice today and she’ll be offically named and lauched by the newly crowned Herring Queen on Sunday 11th 2010.

We had a very successfully meeting down at our workshop on Saturday morning. Lots of people came along to see where we’ll be building the skiffs and pledge their help. We’d like to thank everyone who turned out.

On Monday Johnny took procession of the key for the Workshop, at Dixon’s Yard down by the harbour front in Eyemouth. Scottish Borders Council has donate the use of the building rent free for three months, as part of their “following the public pound” scheme. So many thanks to the Council.

Following on from the last meeting on the 22nd March, negotiations are now well underway with Scottish Borders Council to obtain the workshop in Dickson Yard. It is hoped that we will have the keys for this very soon.
